TRAINING
On Track Safety provides Book 7 Training for workers involved in creating and maintaining Traffic Control Measures.
Book 7 Training is completed in-house by On Track Safety’s Health and Safety Coordinator, Grant Bouchard. The training involves interactive learning directed towards the following topics:
1) Book 7 Implementation
2) Maximize the safety of technicians and the general public
3) Traffic control pre-planning and creating traffic management plans
4) Flagging operations (from set-up to removal)
Background:
Grant joined On Track Safety in 2007 as a Field Technician, Lead Hand progressing to Supervisor.
With a solid understanding of Traffic Control, Grant was able to hold every position, from Flagging to Freeway Crew Leadership, leading to a thorough understanding of how to mitigate risks and implement safer road closures. In 2011, Grant started to work on updating On Track Safety’s Health and Safety Policies & Procedures adding new policies and updating existing ones as the industry evolved.
Grant took part in the development of the Ministry of Transportation’s “Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7”, and continues to advise on proposed changes and corrections to the current edition. Grant continues to consult with Clients and non-Clients with regards to best known practices in the Traffic Control Industry.
